Having recently burnt through a few Revival 119 candles (and being unwilling to give up their aesthetic because hey, look at this beauty, and this guy), my roommate and I decided to pot some succulents on a sunny, Saturday afternoon. Our apartment view is of a Moped Shop, and the only grass around is the tough stuff that forces its way through the concrete parking lot below our deck. Needless to say, I have no gardening tools to speak off. With visions of a Pinterest-worthy apartment dancing in our heads, we headed off to Pleasant Valley Garden Shop and Housework’s (for a few more pots). Loading up on pink leafy succulents, spiky cacti, organic planting soil, and one Venus Fly Trap (my roommate), we regrouped on our porch. In lieu of a trowel, we used large soup spoons, and I gathered gravel from the nearby train tracks. This is...

One of the reasons I married my husband was his passion and high regard for travel. We wanted to travel often, a lot and any time we could. But now with two kiddos, two businesses (he too, owns his own biz, Davisson Millwork) it doesn't happen the way we thought it might, but we still do squeeze in any when we can. This trip was the whole Davisson clan - 12 of us off to a small island of the coast of Honduras to dive, snorkel, swim and relax!!! You know all those things toddlers and little kids love to do ;) but we had strength in numbers so we could all have take our turns with the littles and then have our adventure time! SO check the pretty pics and put Roatan on your LIST, like today! The trip is quicker and easier then you think! Go...

Oh, there's nothing quite like the great outdoors. Oh, but, *sigh*, the sweet creature comforts and plumbing of the indoors. This weekend, I wanted to harness the power of the extremists, the crunchies, the down n' dirty freeze-dried baked bean Clif Bar warriors. But, this weekend I also wanted to gather my best pals for a chill hang and have access to wifi, running water, and cold Chardonnay. Alas! I found the way. I like to think that I found Backyard Glamping, but I think it'd be fair to say that Backyard Glamping found me. If you haven't heard about this hopelessly millenial and Instagram-driven trend, are you actually living under a rock? If so, get out from under there and grab your gear- we're setting up a magical experience. I will share with you how I achieved a roughing-it simulation within four feet of my own home. ...

. This week, we're spreading some love to some of our favorite scents at Revival 119. Norden is a California based husband and wife duo who were inspired by their travels to capture an experience in a scent. When taking a sniff of the Big Sur candle, it's not hard to get what they mean. . Everything is designed and produced by them in California, they say on their website "We try to support local manufacturers and source the best products and materials we can find. Our stoneware containers are hand thrown in Encinitas, CA. Candles are poured in our studio using U.S.A. produced soy wax and a blend of essential oils and high quality fragrance oils." . Each candles ceramic may be used as a mug, planter, or vase after candle use (which takes a bit, the candles have an 80 hours burn time). They've recently launched incense in...
