This painting is of a small scale sheep farm just outside of Iowa City. I’m interested in how small family farms in Iowa have now almost become the “black sheep” within an industry where factory farms far outnumber them. The original piece is part of the larger body of work titled “Flyover State”, an exhibition on life and the perceptions of the Midwest.
